Piano Lessons
Cost
$100 = (4) 30 minute lessons / month
$140 = (4) 45 minute lessons / month
$180 = (4) 60 minute lessons / month
Students will be responsible for the cost of books and supplies as needed. I accept Venmo or cash. Payments should be made by the 1st of each month.
Materials
I currently teach with the Faber Piano books. The four required books include: Lesson, Theory, Technique and Artistry, and Performance. I may make suggestions for personal sheet music, recital music and supplemental materials which may be purchased at your discretion.
Practice
I recommend that students practice their assignments for at least 20 minutes a day, 5 days a week, increasing to 30+ minutes as the student becomes more advanced. I believe daily, consistent practice will increase confidence, skill level, and they will see and feel their hard work pay off at lessons each week, biannual recitals, and most importantly, for their own personal enjoyment throughout their life.
Lessons
Lessons are 30 minutes long. They will begin and end on time. I also offer 45 and 60 minute lessons for advanced and adult students.
Absences
I cannot refund money for missed lessons, but may be able to reschedule lessons if I have other cancellations or an opening in my schedule. In the event that I need to cancel a lesson, I will either credit you the proper amount, or I will make an opportunity for you to reschedule, whichever you prefer. Also, in order to apply deposit, I require a minimum of one months' notice if quitting, so I may fill the spot.
Recitals
Recitals are held twice a year. Students are required to play in recitals, and are asked to play two pieces. I will send home notices about upcoming recitals several weeks in advance.
